Following the publishing of results by Epsom College and St. Johns, we are delighted to announce record scores for this year's Sixth Form.

Of the 140 examinations sat, 66% of grades awarded were As and Bs, a new high for Chinthurst School.  Tom Wishart (St. John's) and George Hancock (Epsom College) both performed to an astonishingly high level, each securing 8 'A' grades. A further 13 boys also gained As in at least one subject.  There were triumphs for individual subjects as well, with scores in English, Maths, Biology, Geography and Spanish the highest they have been for at least four years.

Congratulations to pupils and teachers alike!

An ice cream treat and then it was time for home.

When we returned to School the Remove boys wrote the following acrostic poem:

          Box Hill

          Brilliant Views,

          Outstanding nature,

          XXX equals excellent.

          High in the sky,

          Insects fly,

          Laughter and fun,

          Licking lovely lollies.

It was a very cold and blustery morning, this did not deter the very vocal supporters from the eight local schools involved.  All the participants taking part had a very enjoyable morning with all teams finishing the day in their individual final.  The Chinthurst teams did extremely well with the Chinthurst Lions winning the whole competition and the Chinthurst Tigers winning the bowl. I would like to congratulate the boys on a fantastic performance once again.

In the U7 football tournament on Saturday the Lions played four games including the final.  We won the final 2 - 1.  We only let in one goal in the whole tournament.  We are a brilliant team and feel very proud.

On Saturday 6 February 2010 we played in a football tournament.  My team the Tigers played three matches against Walton Warriors, St Ann's and St Christopher's.  We drew one and lost two matches.  We then played Kingswood which was a 0 - 0 draw.  In the bowl final we played Tadworth Primary.  It was a close match that went on and ended up as 1 - 0 to the tigers.  I scored the winning goal and I felt very happy.
