Following the publishing of results by Epsom College and St. Johns, we are delighted to announce record scores for this year's Sixth Form.

Of the 140 examinations sat, 66% of grades awarded were As and Bs, a new high for Chinthurst School.  Tom Wishart (St. John's) and George Hancock (Epsom College) both performed to an astonishingly high level, each securing 8 'A' grades. A further 13 boys also gained As in at least one subject.  There were triumphs for individual subjects as well, with scores in English, Maths, Biology, Geography and Spanish the highest they have been for at least four years.

Congratulations to pupils and teachers alike!

An ice cream treat and then it was time for home.

When we returned to School the Remove boys wrote the following acrostic poem:

          Box Hill

          Brilliant Views,

          Outstanding nature,

          XXX equals excellent.

          High in the sky,

          Insects fly,

          Laughter and fun,

          Licking lovely lollies.

A big thank you to all the friends and family who came to cheer the boys on and also for taking  part in the toddlers race,  Mum's team race and Dad's football race!  Thank you also to our Form 6 helpers, who did a fantastic job.

A super finish to the event saw the U9's winning their relay race in confident style.

The Under 11's were equally impressive, al-though lacked  a little depth in comparison to their opposition.  Special mention goes to Tom Byers for his 800m performance and for winning his Hurdles event;  Worcester Bawden for his Long Jump and very impressive 800m event, and to Callum Mullett for his performances in the sprints.  The U11's could not sustain their lead in their relay and were pipped at the post on the last leg.

The Seniors again performed very well in certain events but were unable to compete in all events against some very strong competitors.  Special mention goes to Dimil Patel for winning the 100m in 12.86 seconds and the High Jump at 1.50m;  Will Ireland for coming second in the 800m with  a time of 2.40 minutes, Callum Savage for running the 100m in 13.04 seconds and Sammy Gosling for running the 200m in 28.66 seconds.

This was the first athletics event of the season and the following boys have qualified for the West Surrey Athletics event later this month. Well done to all!

Dimil Patel - 100m, 200m, High Jump
Callum Savage - 100m, Hurdles, Long Jump
Sammy Gosling - 200m
Will Ireland - 800m
Callum Mullett - 100m
Tom Byers - Hurdles, 800m
Worcester Bawden - 1500m, Long Jump
Tyler Norwood - 75m, 600m
Oli Byers - 600m, 150m
Taylor McLellan - 150m
