Welcome to Parent and Toddler Group

Even very small children get tired of the same setting.  Whether you have a new-born, a young baby or an active toddler, the Chinthurst School Toddler Group has something to entertain all ages.

Run by mums for mums, the group is a friendly and informal coffee morning with added extras!.  Sessions take place every Thursday during term time 10am - 11.30am.  The cost is £2 per family which also includes a drink and a snack for the little ones and coffee and biscuits for the mums.

Every week we aim to provide a different craft activity from sticking and colouring to card design and mask making.  Wherever possible, our topics are seasonal, celebrating Mother's Day or the first week of Spring for example.

Different toys are set out each week to encourage a different set of skills.  Building blocks or lego one week,   sticklebricks and puzzles the next.  We always have a home corner with a small kitchen, soft play for the more adventurous and a cushioned area for the babies with activity frames, bouncers and baby toys.

Each week we encourage the children to sit together and enjoy a story in the story corner.  This is a lovely opportunity for some quiet time as the children wind down for their snack.   If the sun is shining we can even set up a little circle outside.

Every session finishes with singing and music time.  The children enjoy singing classic nursery rhymes such as '3 Blind Mice' and traditional favourites like 'The Wheels on the Bus' and 'Wind the Bobbin Up'.

The Chinthurst Toddler Group is held in the Pre-Preparatory Hall at Chinthurst School.  The Group is open to all children up to the age of 5.  For further information please contact the School Office on  01737 812011
