Chinthurst Parents' Association

The Chinthurst Parents' Association, or as it's more commonly known, the CPA, is an integral part of life at Chinthurst.

The CPA has two remits; to raise funds for use by the school, and to organise social events that parents can enjoy and where they can meet and form friendships with other parents.

All parents of boys at the school are automatically enrolled as members. An elected committee of around 15 parents, plus the Headmaster and his Wife is responsible for the running of the CPA and usually organises two events per term, along with the Christmas and Summer Fayres and the Summer Ball. These events vary widely from dinner / dances and themed parties to golf days, quiz evenings and treasure hunts. All are well supported by both current and past parents.

Over the years, the Parents' Association has raised hundreds of thousands of pounds, which have been put to good use throughout the school. The most recent and obvious of these have been the renovation of the swimming pool and changing area and the provision of security lighting and CCTV.  The CPA has over the years provided funds for the pitch drainage system, mini buses, sporting and educational tours, new instruments in the music block, computers in Pre Prep and stage lighting equipment. The CPA is currently fundraising for additional interactive whiteboards across the school.

Chinthurst Parents Association 100 Club

Join the CPA 100 Club to have a chance of winning up to £1600 per year.  For 2009, we will be drawing 12 monthly £50 prizes and 1 annual jackpot £1000 prize.

For just £100 per year or £9 per month, you too can become a member of the 100 club.  Approximately 50% of all contributions are retained by the CPA and 50% are paid back as prize money to club members.  More members mean more prize money and of course more funds raised for the school.

Formed in 1984, the CPA 100 Club has consistently contributed over £1000 per year to the CPA's fund raising efforts, whose purchases for the school have included mini buses, musical instruments, computers and library books.

To join, simply complete the CPA 100 Club membership form (download from 'Letters') and return to Kareem Khouri, either via the school office or by email to kareem.khouri@killik.com.

Thank you for your continued support of the CPA!

"One of the unique features of the way of life at Chinthurst is the incredible support from the Parents Association.  It provides social activities for both boys and parents as well as raising truly impressive sums, funding minibuses, interactive whiteboards and much more recently.

I know many parents have made life long friends here and I recommend that, if you have not yet tried a C.P.A. event, then do not hesitate to do so. "

Mr Ian Thorpe (Headmaster)
