Welcome to the Chinthurst Parents’ Association or as it’s more commonly known the CPA.   Hopefully you will soon learn that the CPA is an integral part of life at Chinthurst.

The CPA has two aims; to organise social events that parents can enjoy, meeting and forming life-long friendships with other parents as well as raising funds for use by the school.

All parents of pupils at the school are automatically enrolled as members.

An elected committee of around 15 parents, plus the headmaster, is responsible for the running of the CPA and usually organises one or two events per term.

These events vary widely from dinner/dances and themed parties to golf days, quiz evenings, comedy and race nights and include the flagship function, the Summer Ball, held in a marquee on the playing fields which is then used for the whole school Prize Giving.  All events are well supported by both current and past parents and it is this support that helps raise funds for important projects around the school.

Over the years the CPA has raised hundreds of thousands of pounds which have been put to excellent use throughout the school.  In 2013-2014 projects included outdoor play equipment for both Pre-prep and main school (with an additional generous contribution from the 2013 leavers), two Smartboards (state of the art interactive whiteboards) and contributions towards the South Africa tour and equipment for the toddler group, after care and school drama (head microphones). Whilst in 2014-2015 further interative whiteboards, computer factilities for the Library and an electronic piano for school assemblies where funded.

Previous projects include the renovation of the Astroturf, new ICT suit, the Pre-Prep Tyre park, table tennis tables, bike racks and Prep-prep reading scheme.

‘One of the unique features of the way life at Chinthurst is the incredible support from the Parents Association; it provides social activities for both the children and parents as well as raising truly impressive sums, funding minibuses, Interactive Whiteboards and much more recently.  I know many parents have made life-long friends here and I recommend that, if you have not yet tried a CPA event, then do not hesitate to do so’

Look forward to seeing you at the new academic year's fundraising events.

Finally don’t forget the CPA 100 club with the chance to win a £50 cash prize each month and a grand £1000 annual prize draw.  See attached poster for details and to sign up please email
