Moving to Senior School
'The excellent teaching and well-rounded lives of the Chinthurst pupils ably prepares them for success and achievement in their secondary education' Mr Fenton Headmaster Reigate Grammar School
Our Year 6 pupils proceed to a range of top independent and state schools, many with scholarships for academics, music, sport and art. More importantly, they leave as well rounded individuals ready to embrace the next set of challenges and with an enthusiasm for life which is very much a reflection of Chinthurst.
As a junior school of Reigate Grammar School (RGS), our Year 5 children can benefit from early offer entrance arrangements to RGS should this be their chosen path, without sitting the entrance exam. Chinthurst’s strong academic provision and unique ethos, which values individual happiness, courage and independence, provides ideal preparation for the children’s transition to RGS. Specialist teachers from RGS visit regularly and Chinthurst pupils enjoy trips to RGS for music and sporting events. The children benefit from the continuity of a consistent educational ethos as the 'through' school is able to build long term relationships with them both pastorally and as learners.
Chinthurst also has a history of strong relationships with many other leading senior day and boarding schools including Epsom College, St John's Leatherhead, Caterham School, Dunottar, City of London Freemen's School, Reed's School, Whitgift, Trinity and Boxhill School.
"We wanted to thank you for the wonderful support you gave our daughter with her 11+ exam preparation. The homework given to her was very helpful, the 11+ Club was great and the drama rehearsals helped with her confidence. We are grateful for the help and kindness you have given us as a family too"
Year 6 Parent
We hold a series of future school information evenings for parents starting in Year 3 offering guidance on senior school options. Our relationships with senior schools and our outstanding 11 plus results ensure we can offer expert advice to ensure the children move to schools where they will continue to grow and flourish.
