The Kissing Hand...

Reception have had a very exciting first week at school. We have been very busy playing, exploring and of course reading. We read the book “The Kissing Hand” by Audrey Penn. The story is all about a little racoon called Chester, who felt a little worried on his first day of school. However, Chester’s mummy knew just what to do to make him feel better, she gave him a kiss in the middle of his palm.

On Thursday, the children wanted to read the story again. As Reception were reading their story a big heart fell out of the book! Inside the heart was a note from Chester the Racoon explaining he had left the Reception children all sorts of clues all over the school. The children went to the Art room, to the Music room and even into the school office! Unfortunately, Chester had been called home by his mummy by the time the children had found the last clue. He did however, leave the Reception class some very yummy biscuits!

The children all had a fantastic time finding all of the clues, exploring the school and of course eating their special biscuits.
