A Fond Farewell to Our Fabulous Year 6

Yesterday, we said a fond farewell to our wonderful Year 6 classes of 2025. In the morning, the Upper School came together at the church for a truly special Leavers' Service - a celebration full of laughter, memories, and a few happy tears!
The service began beautifully with a duet with Seb on violin and Hongbo on piano, playing Concerto 3 Minuets by Bach. Miss Trundle then gave a moving speech that set the tone perfectly for what was to come before our talented Year 6 children gave us one last dazzling showcase of everything that makes them so special.
The whole year group came together to kick things off with an uplifting performance of Happy by Pharrell Williams, which had the entire church clapping and dancing in their seats thanks to Year 6's infectious energy. Next up were The Aces - Aayush, Aditya, Hongbo, and Archie - lighting up the stage with a lively rendition of Stayin' Alive by The Bee Gees. Oscar and Oren followed with a dramatic and powerful performance of Goal! by Ellen Weeks that truly captivated the audience. Then came The Bestie Bunch - Amnah, Keshini, Anya, Felicia, and Georgia - whose heartfelt version of Beautiful Things (with a Chinthurst twist!) by Benson Boone tugged at everyone's heartstrings. Year 6's moving rendition of Somewhere Only We Know by Keane marked an emotional high point, leaving some in the audience smiling through their tears. The finale, We Are Family (Chinthurst-style) brought the whole church to their feet, with Year 6 leading the way in a joyful celebration, dancing through the aisles in a jubilant crescendo.
There were poignant messages from staff, and inspiring speeches from our Head Girl, Georgia, and Head Boy, Rupert. Each child proudly received their Leavers' certificate and a special gift to mark their journey. The much-anticipated leavers' video brought it all together - a moving celebration of their time at Chinthurst, filled with treasured photos and memories that show just how far they've come.
As we look ahead, our Year 6 children are dreaming big. Among them are aspiring architects, lawyers, authors, scientists, engineers, actors, musicians, designers, athletes, and entrepreneurs. From future chefs, pilots, and Royal Navy officers to YouTubers, farmers (including a duck farmer!), and travel journalists - even a couple of wrestlers - the sky's the limit for this remarkable group! We can't wait to see where their journeys take them next!
Back at school after the service, the whole Chinthurst community lined up to give Year 6 a huge send-off - with cheers, applause, and a few more happy tears. Wherever life takes them next, we know they'll carry the Chinthurst spirit with them. We're so proud of you, Year 6. Good luck at your senior schools - and remember, you'll always have a home here at Chinthurst. Come back and visit us anytime! As your Head Girl and Head Boy said so brilliantly: you've absolutely smashed it. You are - and always will be #Team6!
