What a fantastic way to begin the new school year!

Our very first Church Assembly, led by the brilliant class of 6B, was a recognition of courage, individuality, and good humour - with just the right amount of chaos!

Right from the start, the message was loud and clear - courage comes in many forms. Whether it's trying something new, standing up for a friend, or simply having the confidence to be yourself, bravery isn't always loud - sometimes it's quiet and in everyday life. There were plenty of smiles and amusing moments throughout the assembly. We laughed, we reflected, and we were enlightened to see our Head Boy and Head Girl open the assembly.

And then came the highlight - a surprise appearance from Mr Thomson! He was hilariously honoured for facing his rather unique fear… of socks! Although, he wasn't alone in his brave moment - the Year 6 team stood proudly by his side, cheering him on as he took a (sock-covered) step into the unknown. It was a lovely display of support, courage, and Chinthurst spirit that had the whole school grinning.

But beyond the fun and laughter, the real message was one to carry with us all year long - being different is something to be proud of. When we embrace what makes us unique, we help build a school community that's stronger, kinder, and more connected. A huge well done to 6B for leading the way with such confidence, creativity, and care. You've set a wonderful tone for the year ahead - and we couldn't be prouder!
