We are delighted to announce that Chinthurst has been awarded the Eco-Schools Green Flag with Distinction - the highest level of recognition for schools working towards a greener future.

The award celebrates the creativity, passion and teamwork shown by our children, staff and wider school community, who have embraced a variety of projects to protect the environment both in school and in the local community. The judges were particularly impressed with the way our Eco-Club has grown, giving every child the opportunity to get involved. They also praised the enthusiasm shown across the school in tackling key issues such as reducing waste, protecting nature and caring for the planet. They noted that our children are not only learning about environmental challenges but also taking real action - through practical projects, awareness-raising and building everyday habits that will last a lifetime. This award is a wonderful achievement for the entire Chinthurst community – our children, staff and families working together.

I am so proud of the way our children have embraced eco-projects this year. Their passion, creativity and willingness to take action are what makes this award so special. They've shown that even small steps can add up to make a big difference.

Last week, Mrs Higginbotham held the first Eco Committee meeting of the year. The children's enthusiasm was inspiring as they began shaping our new School Eco Code and planning fresh initiatives as we continue our eco-journey. We are so proud of the hard work that has gone into achieving this award. Together, we are making Chinthurst a greener, more sustainable place. Well done to everyone involved - we can't wait to see what this year's Eco Committee will achieve!
