This morning, the Upper School gathered for a moving Remembrance Service in church to honour those who bravely served and sacrificed during the First and Second World Wars, as well as in other conflicts around the world.

The service began with our Head Girl, Sophia, and Head Boy, Oscar, laying a wreath before Miss Trundle opened the service, leading the congregation in our first hymn, I Vow to Thee My Country. In a touching flute solo, Laurence performed Pokarekare Ana, bringing a quiet and reflective moment to the congregation. This was followed by the Year 6 Choir's beautiful rendition of When the Seasons Change. Jacob, Elsie, Laurence, and Florence in Year 6 read a collection of readings, followed by the Year 5 & 6 Choir, who performed The Lord Bless You and Keep You.

We were honoured to welcome Megan from our Senior School, Reigate Grammar School, who beautifully performed The Last Post and Reveille as we observed a minute's silence in reflection and remembrance of those who gave their lives. The silence was followed by a heartfelt rendition of Jerusalem and a prayer led by our Head Boy and Head Girl, bringing the service to a close.

Following the service, children, staff, and parents took a solemn walk to the flagpole at the front of the school, where the Lower School joined for a final moment of tribute. Oscar and Sophia laid the wreath at the flagpole before Mrs Winchester's recital of In Flanders Fields.

In recent weeks, Upper School's Art lessons have been dedicated to creating poppies, which were laid in a striking and beautiful field of remembrance encircling the flagpole, honouring those who gave so much for our future.
