This week's school assembly focused on Love, the value for the term, with Ms Trundle leading a heartfelt assembly for the children.

Ms Trundle began by asking the children to reflect on what, and who, they love. Hands shot up across the hall as the children eagerly shared their thoughts. Some spoke about their love for their parents and carers, while others mentioned playing football or collecting model aeroplanes. Several children explained how stroking their pets makes them feel calm and happy, helping them to feel loved and safe.

The children were also encouraged to think about how it feels when someone shows them love and what love truly means to them. Their thoughtful responses showed a strong understanding of kindness, care and connection, highlighting just how important love is in their everyday lives.

To help keep this message alive beyond the assembly, Ms Trundle introduced a special initiative for each year group. The children were given heart-shaped Post-it notes to use whenever they experience love or show love to someone else. These will be written on and displayed on their classroom walls, creating a visual reminder of all the kind and caring moments shared throughout the school community.

Ms Trundle reminded the children that love can be seen everywhere at Chinthurst, from the catering team who prepare delicious meals to keep everyone energised for learning, to the teachers who encourage and support the children to do their very best every day.

The assembly concluded with Ms Trundle sharing the school's ethos and what makes Chinthurst so special. She reminded the children that the school has HEART - a reflection of the care, respect and love shown by everyone in the community.

This focus on love will continue throughout the term, with children exploring the value further during their PSHE lessons.

It was a lovely opportunity to pause and reflect on the many ways love is shared each day, both in the classroom and across the wider school community.
