Chinthurst is delighted to share the highly positive outcome of its recent inspection by the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI), which recognised the school’s strong provision across all areas and highlighted an exceptional aspect of school life as a Significant Strength.

During their visit, inspectors gathered evidence from a wide range of sources to build a full picture of life at Chinthurst. They observed lessons, spoke with children and staff, reviewed children’s work, examined procedures and policies, and considered documentation relating to teaching, wellbeing and leadership. This comprehensive process confirmed that Chinthurst demonstrates consistently strong practice and fully meets the standards expected of independent schools.

Inspectors also identified a Significant Strength, a recognition awarded only in a small minority of inspections when a school demonstrates an aspect of provision with an exceptional and meaningful impact on children.

The inspection team highlighted the outstanding culture of kindness, respect and inclusion that characterises daily life at Chinthurst. Inspectors observed that children have a deep understanding that people may be different and that everyone should feel valued and included. They noted that children are respectful, kind and accepting of others’ cultures, beliefs and perspectives.

Importantly, inspectors recognised that this culture is the result of thoughtful and consistent leadership that actively promotes mutual respect, celebrates difference and ensures every child feels a strong sense of belonging within the school community.
