Chinthurst School is celebrating an exceptional year of senior school destinations, with a 100% offer rate across all applications and every Year 6 pupil progressing to selective senior schools.

This year’s cohort of 44 pupils has secured places at a wide range of leading independent senior schools across Surrey. Scholarships were achieved at every school where places were offered, with many pupils receiving multiple scholarships across disciplines including Academic, Sport, Music, Performing Arts/Drama, Art and Chess.

Senior school offers were secured from Chinthurst’s senior schools, Reigate Grammar School and RGS Surrey Hills, as well as Epsom College, St John’s School, City of London Freemen’s School, Dunottar School, Woldingham School and St Teresa’s School.

A defining strength of Chinthurst is its dual-pathway model, ensuring each child follows the route best suited to their ambitions and talents.

As a Junior School of Reigate Grammar School and RGS Surrey Hills, Chinthurst offers a seamless transition to senior school, with pupils in Year 5 benefiting from early offers from the RGS senior schools, ahead of the national 11+ cycle in Year 6. This year, all pupils received offers from the RGS senior schools, with 77% offered places at Reigate Grammar School, and 82% of the cohort confirming places within the RGS family of schools.

Alongside this pathway, 16% of the cohort chose to pursue the 11+ route, sitting examinations at eight different selective senior schools. These pupils benefited from a structured and comprehensive preparation programme tailored to their individual strengths and chosen destinations. The results reflect the strength of this approach, with a 100% offer rate across all 11+ applications, and every pupil securing their first-choice senior school for the sixth consecutive year. In addition, scholarships were achieved across every school applied to.

Together, these pathways reflect Chinthurst’s personalised philosophy: combining early certainty with expert preparation to ensure every child moves forward with confidence and success.

This year’s results reflect the ambition, commitment and character of our Year 6 pupils. Whether securing early offers through the RGS pathway or pursuing the 11+ route, every child was guided and prepared to achieve the outcome that was right for them. The breadth of scholarships and destinations speaks to the strength of both pathways.

Our focus extends beyond examination outcomes. We are committed to developing confident, capable and compassionate young people.
