On Wednesday evening, Year 6 took to the stage at the Battersea Arts Centre for the RGS Music in Concert event, an inspiring celebration of music and the spoken word.

Performing to a packed audience, the Year 6 choir delivered a captivating programme, including renditions of I Will Survive and selections from Chichester Psalms. Their performance was met with warm appreciation, as children demonstrated not only musical skill but also remarkable confidence and stage presence.

The evening also provided a wonderful opportunity for the children to watch and be inspired by performances from other schools, making it a memorable and enriching experience.

Shaun Fenton, Headmaster of Reigate Grammar School, praised the choir’s performance, describing it as “quite simply outstanding.” He highlighted the children’s composure and confidence on such a prestigious London stage, noting that they brought a sense of joy and uplift to the audience.

Opening the second half of the concert, the Chinthurst choir delivered one of the standout moments of the evening. Their poise, talent and infectious enthusiasm set the tone beautifully, filling the room with smiles and tapping feet.

The evening was a proud moment for Chinthurst School, showcasing the power of music to bring people together and celebrating the talent, confidence and spirit of its young performers.
