We were absolutely delighted to take part in this year’s Reigate and Redhill Festival, a much-loved celebration of music and drama that brings together schools from across the local area. It was a joy to watch our talented children from Years 1 to 6 take to the stage at Reigate Park Church, showcasing their enthusiasm, confidence, and musical talent.

On Tuesday, our three school choirs performed in separate categories, each delivering memorable performances. Our Little Voices Choir, made up of 25 enthusiastic singers from Years 1 and 2, opened with a joyful rendition of Spring Fever!, impressing the judges with their power, precision, and infectious enthusiasm. Their second piece, Power in Me, beautifully demonstrated their developing choral skills and growing confidence as performers. The judges were especially complimentary about their wonderful showmanship and the way they engaged the entire audience. We were thrilled when they were awarded an Honours certificate.

Next, our Years 3 and 4 Choir took to the stage with a programme that highlighted both their technical skill and expressive performance style. Their polished renditions of Jazz is Cool and Gospel Medley showcased impressive depth of expression, and poise well beyond their years.

Finally, our Years 5 and 6 Choir captivated the audience with a compelling performance of Panis Angelicus. The children demonstrated remarkable musical understanding and maturity, delivering this technically challenging piece with warmth and control. This was followed by a beautifully balanced performance of There is Peace, the richness of the lower vocal lines, particularly from our Year 6 pupils, was especially moving as they prepare for the next stage of their journey.

We could not be prouder of every child who took part. Their dedication, courage, and love of performing were evident in every moment on stage. A huge thank you goes to our Head of Music, Mrs Oldfield, for preparing the children so brilliantly, and to all the parents for their continued encouragement and support throughout the festival week. Congratulations to everyone involved on such a memorable and uplifting celebration of music.
