Reception had a wonderful time on Thursday as they set off on their very first school trip, a visit to Bocketts Farm to support their current topic on animals.

At the farm, the children were delighted to meet and feed a wide range of animals. They were gentle and caring as they stroked fluffy guinea pigs and rabbits, and they carefully observed sheep and cows up close. The trip was filled with exciting hands-on learning opportunities, helping to bring their classroom learning to life.

One of the highlights of the day was the tractor ride across the rolling Surrey hills. As they bumped along the track, the children learnt fascinating facts about the animals and discovered more about life on the farm.

The children were also thrilled to watch the pig race. There were huge cheers and plenty of laughter as they watched Beatrix Trotter, Jack Squeelish, Fireman Ham, Hugh Grunt, Snoop Hogg and Alison Gammond race across the obstacle course. The children enthusiastically supported their favourite pigs, truly bringing home the bacon with their cheering!

It was an action-packed day full of learning, laughter and exploration. The children returned to school tired but beaming, having behaved beautifully and represented Chinthurst with great pride.
