We are delighted to announce that Chinthurst has been awarded the Eco-Schools Green Flag with Distinction for the second year running, recognising our continued commitment to environmental sustainability.

The Eco-Schools Green Flag Award is an internationally recognised accreditation that celebrates schools committed to empowering children to lead meaningful environmental initiatives and embed sustainability across all aspects of school life.

This achievement is testament to the enthusiasm, hard work and dedication of our Eco Lead, Mrs Higginbotham, and the entire Eco Committee, who have actioned a wide range of initiatives throughout the year to make Chinthurst a greener and more sustainable school community.

Among their many projects, the Eco Committee took part in the Big Plastic Count, encouraging the school community to reflect on the amount of single-use plastic consumed and consider ways to reduce waste. Committee members have also planted seeds and flowers around the school, promoted energy-saving habits by ensuring lights are switched off when not in use, and encouraged everyone to be mindful of water consumption.

Receiving the Green Flag with Distinction once again highlights the collective efforts of the whole school community. Through their passion and determination, our Eco Committee continues to inspire positive change and help create a more sustainable future for all.
