Chinthurst proudly held its very first Community Day, bringing the whole school together to celebrate the people and places that make our local community such a wonderful place to live and learn. Throughout the day, every year group took part in activities designed to spread kindness, strengthen community connections and make a positive difference.

Our youngest children in Nursery created colourful posters, which were displayed outside the school to brighten the day for neighbours and visitors. Year 1 decorated kindness stones before hiding them in the local woodland for members of the community to discover. Children across the school also took part in litter picks around the local area, helping to care for the environment and demonstrate pride in their community.

A group of Year 6 children visited a local care home, where they performed a selection of well-loved songs, bringing smiles to the faces of residents. Meanwhile, Year 4 baked delicious biscuits before writing thoughtful letters and delivering them to our neighbours as a gesture of thanks and appreciation.

Year 6 also enjoyed leading Reception on a woodland walk, creating special opportunities for our oldest and youngest children to spend time together. Year 2 shared heartfelt messages of kindness with the local community, while Year 5 put their creativity and teamwork to the test by designing an exciting woodland scavenger hunt for families to enjoy together.

The day was a wonderful celebration of community spirit. As our very first Community Day, it perfectly reflected the values at the heart of Chinthurst, reminding us that even the smallest acts of kindness can have a lasting impact and that together we can make a real difference to those around us.
