Chinthurst School is delighted to announce that it has been commended in the Independent School of the Year Awards 2026 in the Diversity, Equality, Inclusion and Justice category.

The recognition celebrates Chinthurst's ongoing commitment to creating a school community where every child feels they belong, their individuality is valued and differences are understood, respected and celebrated.

This commitment was also recognised during the school's 2026 ISI inspection, where pupils' understanding of difference and inclusion was identified as a Significant Strength. Inspectors praised the culture of the school, noting that pupils are "respectful, kind and accepting of others' cultures and beliefs," reflecting the school's deliberate and consistent focus on belonging, mutual respect and celebrating diversity.

At Chinthurst, DEIJ is not a standalone initiative but something that runs through every aspect of school life. Through the curriculum, assemblies, pastoral care and everyday conversations, children are encouraged to develop empathy, challenge stereotypes and appreciate different perspectives.
