Chinthurst was delighted to welcome families from our sister school, St Christopher’s, last week for a special morning exploring life in the Upper School.

With the sun shining, our Year 6 children were ready at the school gates to greet our visitors and give them a warm Chinthurst welcome before accompanying them into school.

The morning gave families the opportunity to experience Chinthurst on a normal school day and see first-hand the spirit and sense of community that make our school so special. As they made their way around the Upper School, there was plenty to see. The Sports Hall was full of activity during a sports lesson, children were working collaboratively in the Science Lab and developing their coding skills using Tinkercad in the Computing Suite, while Year 4 were hard at work in their Maths lesson.

Along the way, families met our specialist teachers and learnt more about the breadth of opportunities and experiences available to children throughout their time at Chinthurst.

It was particularly exciting to show our visitors the new Creative Arts building, which had opened its doors for lessons for the very first time earlier that week. Home to Art, DT and Drama, the new building provides a wonderful environment for children to explore their creativity, develop new skills and bring their ideas to life.

We thoroughly enjoyed welcoming the St Christopher’s families and were incredibly proud of all the children who helped make their visit such a warm and enjoyable introduction to life at Chinthurst.
