Celebrating Harvest Festival

Community School News

This morning, the Chinthurst community came together in the church to celebrate our annual Harvest Festival, a much-loved tradition and a wonderful opportunity to reflect on gratitude, generosity and the food we are fortunate to enjoy.

The service began with representatives from each class proudly carrying beautifully decorated boxes filled with generous donations from our families. These were presented at the altar to our Head Girl and Head Boy, providing a wonderful symbol of the kindness and community spirit that lies at the heart of Chinthurst.

Each year group then had their moment at the front of the church to perform. It is always a privilege to see how the children’s confidence grows as they progress through the school, and they certainly did themselves proud. Year 5 performanced the traditional Chinthurst Vegetable Rap, which has become a tradition which everyone thoroughly enjoyed!

Throughout the service, the church was filled with music, smiles and a wonderful sense of togetherness as the children sang and celebrated alongside one another.

We would like to say a huge thank you to all our families for their incredibly generous donations of food and toiletries, which will support those in need through the Epsom and Ewell Foodbank.

The generosity of our families, together with the children’s enthusiastic performances, perfectly captured the true spirit of Harvest – giving thanks, helping others and celebrating the caring community we are so proud of at Chinthurst.
