Trips, Visits & Residentials

Our youngest children delight in memorable experiences that make learning meaningful. Nursery and Reception children enjoy Little City role-play workshops, transforming the Lower School Hall into a bustling miniature town complete with construction sites, emergency services, a supermarket, hair salon and doctor's surgery. Reception also visit local places such as Bocketts Farm and welcome special visitors to school, including firefighters who arrive in a real fire engine and demonstrate how they help our community. Taking turns to direct the fire hose across the playing field is always a particular highlight!

As they move through the Lower School, children enjoy a range of inspiring trips and workshops linked to their learning. Highlights include visits to Gatton Park, Leeds Castle, Wisley Gardens and Drusillas Park, alongside immersive theatre experiences that bring topics such as the Great Fire of London vividly to life.

From Year 3 onwards, learning becomes even more adventurous. Highlights include exploring geology and natural history at Haslemere Museum, taking part in environmental studies at Juniper Hall and stepping back in time through Viking, Saxon and Roman workshops held at school.

Year 4 marks children's first overnight residential, where they begin to discover what they can achieve beyond their comfort zone. Experiences have included mastering archery and orienteering, building woodland survival skills, tackling team challenges and gathering around the campfire to toast marshmallows, share stories and sing songs beneath the stars. Visits such as The Living Rainforest and engaging Roman workshops further enrich their studies.

In Year 5, children enjoy a two-night outdoor adventure residential packed with opportunities to challenge themselves, support one another and embrace new experiences. Activities may include kayaking, canoeing, paddleboarding, fencing, crate stacking and problem-solving challenges, alongside visits and workshops that bring science vividly to life.

Year 6 children create some of their most treasured Chinthurst memories during a four-night residential in France, staying in a beautiful château, developing their language skills, experiencing a different culture and building confidence through international travel. Among the many opportunities on offer, children also take part in Junior Citizen Day, learning valuable life skills and how to stay safe in a variety of real-world situations.
