Under the direction of our own specialist coaches, pupils have full use of all the sports facilities on their doorstep - a multi-purpose Sports Hall, astro-turf, indoor heated swimming pool and on-site and off-site playing fields. Competing on the premier circuit within the South East of Surrey, we continue to be incredibly proud as we ‘punch well above our weight’!

Every pupil in the Main School receives a double P.E. lesson per week as well as two afternoons of Games within the curriculum. Additional to these are optional early morning sessions and a variety of after-school practices and hobbies.

As well as the weekly activities, we also offer unique Saturday morning practices. These practices run throughout the morning (Unless the age group have a match) for the entire school, giving all pupils an additional opportunity to participate in a well structured and coached environment.  Parents often use this time to watch their child, whilst catching up with their friends over a bacon sandwich and a cup of tea.

All pupils in the Main School participate in a wide range of physical activities specifically designed to improve their levels of confidence and skill. Attention is paid during all sessions to developing pupils' technical skills, speed, stamina, and agility.

Rugby and Football (boys) and Netball and Hockey (girls) are played during the Autumn and Spring Terms, whilst Cricket (boys) and Rounders (girls) are played in the Summer Term. In addition to these three major sports, Chinthurst also offers comprehensive and competitive programs in swimming, tennis, athletics. Swimming, dance, health related fitness, gymnastics, basketball and SAQ's are also fully covered within the P.E. curriculum. Whilst the school has achieved a high level of national success in a number of these sports, it remains our core philosophy that all skill levels are catered for, so that pupils are afforded the opportunity to develop at their own pace and within an environment that engenders confidence and enjoyment whilst educating into a healthy lifestyle.

From Year 3 onwards a variety of annual sports tours are open to all pupils.
